#1 - Tue Oct 10, 2006 4:25 PM EDTMe too, but I have a feeling that if this thing is for real, it may not actually replace the 5.5G iPod but be a "new breed" that lives alongside the others.
Then again, maybe not.
So did I. Still, I suppose that the 'true' video iPod won't happen until more movie studios jump into the iTunes store, in about six months. And, they better get some serious battery life going too...
#2 - Tue Oct 10, 2006 8:31 PM EDTWhat's with all the speculation about wireless capabilities? I'm used to being pleasantly surprised by Apple, but I just fail to see the usefulness of it. All I can think is "gimmicky feature bloat." Well, that and battery drain.
Also, I can't imagine why they would waste time with the most recent improvements if they were going to update it again that soon. Sure, everyone wants the "true" video iPod soon, but that doesn't mean it's ready. I'm thinking January's Macworld sounds like a good time, followed in March by a special event for the new iPhone (coincidentally when my current Cingular contract is up). See what wishful thinking makes you predict?
