Conspiracy theorists favorite tool is the "link". The U.S. Government is "linked" to this or "linked" to that. Well, links prove absolutely nothing. They are what they are and most of the time they are tenuous at best.
For example, I can be linked to the 9/11attacks in a number of ways. I know of some people that died in the World Trade Center. I know of some people that conveniently did not travel to New York that day. I know some members of the military. But you can never prove that I had anything to do with the attacks nor can you prove that I had any advance knowledge of the attacks.
I can be linked to terrorist organizations. One of the places where I bank was part of an investigation where an Islamic charity was funneling money to Al Qaeda (The bank was exonerated of any wrong doing). My wife is Filipino and there is a branch of the Al Qaeda network that is Filipino (Abu Sayyaf). Yet you will never be able to prove that I have ever funded terrorists or prove that I knowingly associate with any person that is actively a terrorist.
Instead of showing "links", show us some proof. Evidence. Don't tell me the U.S. funded some group that at some point killed a bunch of innocent people somewhere in the world. I have no doubt that this has happened many times over our history. What you need to prove is that the U.S. Government ordered the action and that they approved of the action. The U.S. Government has been and currently can be linked with any number of terrorist organizations. But what needs to be proved is that there is a policy to murder innocent people. Otherwise all you have are a bunch of links that are no more valuable than the ones provided to the conspiracy theory web sites.
